Aviation Career Education

Looking For A Great Career, Why Not Aviation Career.

Aviation career education is an excellent choice if you love to fly and travel the world. Being a pilot comes with many rewards but also many responsibilities. There are two pilots, the captain and the copilot and the captain carries the most weight when it comes to navigation, emergencies, knowing the rules/laws, taxing an airplane to a runway and so forth. The copilot does the communicating and monitoring of the controls. Pilots must know how to write up reports because these are filed with the (FAA) Federal Aviation Administration. Below you will find what is needed to carry out an aviation career. Pursuing an aviation career means having a high school diploma or GED.

You must have a bachelor's degree and have done one of the three things to obtain your flying skills: 1. Go to a flight school approved by the FAA or 2. If you have been in the military and have had flight training this helps or 3. Private lessons from a FAA licensed instructor. The easiest way may be to attend a college that offers flight approved training which would give you both the training and the college course work needed to complete both the educational piece and the hands on training. Training for pilots can be from three to six weeks and would cover things like simulators, ground school and actual flight.

Until you have experience under your belt and are comfortable with solo flying there is always an instructor on board and you usually operate under a student pilot's certificate until you can pass your exam and flight test with the examiner and obtain your real pilot license. One must also obtain there Airline Transport certificate which requires you be age 23, pass psychological and aptitude tests along with other items not limited to 1500 hours of flight time and passing medical exams. Being admitted to an aviation program requires 20/20 vision, good hearing, and the ability to read, write and speak English.
