Did you know that by law, flight attendants must be on board all major airline flights in order to ensure the safety and security of all major airline travelers? Being that flight attendant jobs are mandatory for major airlines to make available, there are always going to be many great flight attendant job opportunities available for those interested in an aviation career in the area of flight attendant jobs.

In addition to ensuring the safety and security of the passengers on the aircraft, flight attendants also make sure that their passengers are more enjoyable by all.
Flight attendant jobs normally begin with a meeting or briefing with the captain where they will go over emergency procedures, the weather situation, length of flight(s), as well as special situations that involve the passengers on the plane. This briefing is normally conducted within an hour before the flight.

Flight attendant jobs can be quite competitive as it provides a means of travel and more for those who are pursuing flight attendant jobs as an aviation career. However, being that travel is a major part of a rewarding flight attendant job, it is important to stress that there will be much time away from home when flying up to 12-14 hours a day in some cases.
However, being away from home at least about 30% of the time will also allow those who do enjoy paid-for meals and lodging a nice way to spend their days at work.

In most cases, the willingness to relocate for a flight attendant job may be a necessity as it usually requires more seniority to choose exactly which areas one will be based in.
If you are interested in flight attendant jobs and an aviation career and would like to pursue this career path, then the first thing anyone interested in flight attendant jobs should know is that they must be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration before being able to apply for any flight attendant jobs.
The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma, however; most airlines do prefer a college degree from those applying for flight attendant jobs in addition to some experience with dealing with the public and different types of people in general.

There are also many different flight attendant schools which those interested in flight attendant jobs can attend which may give them quite a competitive advantage when applying for the flight attendant jobs.
After a flight attendant applicant has been hired, a formal training session will be required. The formal flight attendant job training may last up to 5-8 weeks. The amount of time flight attendant job training lasts all depends on the type of aircraft and job the flight attendant candidate will be dealing with.

During the flight attendant job training, trainees will learn and refresh their knowledge on dealing with emergency situations, as well as difficult passengers and more while performing necessary tasks before their superiors in order to become FAA certified flight attendants with an FAA Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency.
Once FAA certified and on your way in the rewarding flight attendant job field, you may also find many opportunities for promotion to lead flight attendant, supervisor, base manager, manager or vice president of in-flight operations and more.
