Helicopter Flight Training

About helicopter flight training schools & more

Helicopter flight training can be a very rewarding experience. However, it can also be much more demanding than other aircraft careers. Much like other aviation career schooling, helicopter flight training can become quite costly as you gain the knowledge for a successful aviation career.

If you are not sure if helicopter flight training is the right path for you, then why not try a basic helicopter flight training course to see if it is the best fit for you and your aviation career path. In some cases you may find it is not, but in many cases individuals will find that helicopter flight training is the right path for them. Be sure to weigh out all of your aviation career options before spending the money on helicopter flight school or other aviation career paths first.

Helicopter flight training can initially be reasonably priced, but be sure that is not the only factor you consider when looking into aviation schools. Be sure that your helicopter flight training school is FAA certified as the helicopter training education from an FAA certified school will give you a much higher quality level of training and less time needed in order to become a certified pilot.

When in helicopter flight training, you will most likely learn about the six different levels of helicopter flight training ratings. The different ratings are private, commercial, instrument, instrument instructor, flight instructor, and ATP. Once your helicopter flight training path is chosen, you will be required to obtain a current medical certificate from an FAA certified physician in order to continue your aviation career path.

In regards to the actual helicopter training, just as in all other flight training programs, there will be an oral exam, written exam and flight test which you will be required to pass. Additional requirements do not include having to have flown a plane before, even though it is highly recommended in order to be much more settled into helicopter flight training environments before starting. Also, there is an age requirement of 17 years of age in order to begin helicopter flight training.

The time it takes to complete helicopter flight training may be around a year or so, maybe a little less as a full time helicopter flight school student. However, if you are only a part time helicopter flight student, it may take quite a bit longer for you to complete your flight schooling.
